Read Ronald Hady's Biography

Hollywood CERT Instructor

Ronald Hady was born in Meyersdale, PA in 1949. He graduated Meyersdale Area High School in 1967 and attended California State College (1967-1969). He then entered the U.S. Coast Guard in 1969.

Ron made 14 trips across the Arctic Circle and delivered a baby in Greenland. He studied Criminalistics at Northeastern University while in the Coast Guard. From 1973 to 1975 he worked for Pinkerton.


In 1975 Ronald joined the Meyersdale Volunteer Fire Department and was appointed a member of the Pennsylvania Forestry Crew. He studied accounting at Catherman's Business School from 1975 to 1976. Then went to work for the Department of Defense.

Ronald joined the Fairview Township Fire Department in 1977, received his EMT in 1977 as well and has been a First-Aid/CPR Instructor since 1978. he took Basic-Intermediate and Aviation Firefighting at the Pennsylvania Fire Academy. Ronald received an award for excellent service during the Three Mile Island nuclear incident, March 29 through April 2, 1979. He became a Paramedic Assistant in 1983.

He then transferred to the U.S. Marshals Service in 1996. In 1999, Ronald joined Hollywood CERT and became an instructor in 2000. As a Major in the Civil Air Patrol (USAF Auxiliary) he is the Emergency Services Officer and teaches "Search and Rescue, "Survival" and "Safety" courses. He is also a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
