He has been proactive in capitalizing on contemporary techniques
and methodologies in crisis situations. Chief Steele has been
the recipient of numerous commendations and awards at state
and community levels. He holds Associate of Science Degrees
in Fire Sciences and Emergency Medical Services. And a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership. He holds many
certifications and has accumulated hundreds of hours of training
in important subjects ranging from Mass Casualty Incident
training, to Terrorism, to Hazardous Materials to Dive Rescue.
For
more than 10 years he developed and instructed all aspects
of training for Hollywood Fire/Rescue and Beach Safety encompassing
EMS, Firefighting, Hazardous Materials, and Dive-Rescue training,
with responsibility for implementation and review of EMS protocols.
He trained local Fire Rescue and Law Enforcement departments
in Terrorism Response involving Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical
threats, initiating the Hollywood Fire Rescue and Beach Safety
Rapid Dive Rescue Team as well.
Currently
Chief Mark Steele is overlooking all aspects of Fire Training,
Emergency Medical Services, volunteer groups & Emergency
Management at the Hollywood Fire Department. And currently
the Public Information Officer. He also oversees all Hollywood
CERT operations.
